Chapter 7

Oliver sat on the edge of the bed with a towel wrapped around his waist. He was in no particular hurry to get this evening started even though he could hear Chloe moving around downstairs. She seemed excited at the prospect of having her cousin and her cousin's boyfriend over for the evening, but that was because she didn't know that her cousin's boyfriend and the Blur were on in the same and she easily could have ended up Mrs. Clark Kent if things had gone differently.

He knew Clark was nervous about the evening and for once, Oliver couldn't blame him. They were walking a very delicate line. If Chloe recognized Clark's voice or he pulled one of his disappearing acts, there was a very good chance she was going to put the pieces together.

Oliver got up from the bed and went to the dresser, grabbing what he needed before he moved into the closet and started to get dressed. Oliver knew the truth coming out was going to hurt Clark a lot more than it would him, but he still didn't want it to. Things had been good between him and Chloe ever since the mission in Connecticut and he was determined to keep it that way. Life was much better when he was getting along with the woman he was married to and working with.

He finished getting dressed, tossed the towel in the hamper and headed downstairs to find Chloe. He noticed that she'd gone all out with the cleaning and he had to admit that he liked the decor they'd settled on. It seemed to fit both of them really well. He spotted Chloe near the mini bar and smiled. "Are you doing shots before they get here?" he teased.

Chloe rolled her eyes playfully and turned to face Oliver. "No, smart ass," she said, though there was no bite to her words, "I was checking to make sure we had stuff my cousin likes," she explained as she shifted away from the mini bar and gave him a cursory once over. "Well Husband, you certainly clean up nice. Trying to impress my cousin?" she teased as she moved around him and fixed one of the small pillows on the couch.

She was looking forward to spending some time with her cousin and she was also looking forward to finally meeting this boyfriend she'd heard so much about. With the apartment finally done and her and Oliver being on good terms, Chloe thought it was the perfect time to have Lois over. "I told you I was making chicken for dinner, right?" she asked as she straightened and glanced at him.

"Yes and it smells great," Oliver commented. He moved over to the wet bar and poured himself a drink, figuring it wouldn't hurt. "I think I did all right with your cousin the first time. Once she got past the shock anyway," he joked.

Chloe snorted. "I think shock is putting it mildly," she commented and closed the distance between them. When he pulled the glass away from his lips, Chloe took it from him without asking, to a quick sip and held it back out to him with a grin.

Oliver raised an eyebrow. "Have we already become one of those couples?" he deadpanned before taking another sip. "You seem happy."

"We have not," she confirmed, "But I only wanted one sip so it seemed silly to pour a whole other drink for that," she explained as she watched him for a minute and then smiled. "I am happy," she said softly. "I feel like I haven't seen Lois in ages and I finally get to meet this guy she's all crazy about." She shrugged. "I'm excited."

"Is it normally like that with you two?" Oliver asked curiously. He knew Lois and Clark had been together for a while, but he wasn't sure how much Lois had told Chloe about their relationship. He really felt like a complete jackass about all of this.

Chloe’s brows drew together, a hint of confusion in her gaze, “Like what?” she asked, realizing that despite the fact that they had been living together for two months now, they barely knew anything about each other’s pasts, outside of what was public knowledge.

"Secretive about the guys you're dating or marrying," Oliver joked. "I mean ours is a special case, obviously, but you made it sound like your cousin has been with this guy for a while. How come you haven't met him?" he asked.

Chloe sent him a thoughtful look. “I,” she paused, “I don’t know. I mean it’s not that we’re secretive, I don’t actually date a lot,” she said as she tilted her head to the side. “I think the last relationship I had was close to three years ago, right after I started for the Agency and it ended badly,” she said with a shrug.

“Lois didn’t know about him until after he broke up with me in public,” she said with a huff, “And it’s not like she hasn’t told me about the guys she dated before Clark. I guess we’ve just both been really busy lately,” she said lamely. “But I’m pretty sure they were seeing each other for a while before she actually told me. And apparently he’s got a really demanding job, which is why he’s never around,” she said, though her tone implied she didn’t exactly believe it.

“I’ve been tempted on several occasions to run a background check on him, but I’m really trying to give him the benefit of the doubt because Lois seems to really care about him. More than I’ve ever seen her care about anyone else,” she told him honestly.

Oliver laughed. "You're an interesting woman, Chloe Sullivan," he commented as he refilled his drink. He knew even if she did run a background check on Clark, she wouldn't find anything interesting because he was as clean as a farm boy could be. But if she looked a little further into his constant disappearances…that would be an entirely different story. Oliver pushed the thought aside, not wanting Chloe to realize he was thinking a little too hard about all of this.

"I don't date much either. Before we got married, I mean," Oliver added. "I had a list of people I could rely on when I needed a quick date for a party that I needed to show my face at, but it's not like I could really let someone get close to me and figure out everything that I've been hiding. I'm surprised the Agency didn't marry me off sooner."

Chloe chuckled, “Tess mentioned someone dropped the ball with me,” she commented, “Apparently, I was supposed to be married sooner,” she said as she shook her head. She studied Oliver for a minute and something seemed off about him. She reached out and brushed his arm gently to get his attention. “You okay?” she asked, a hint of concern in her voice.

"Yeah," Oliver replied. He smiled at her as he mentally admonished himself for not having a better poker face. Apparently Chloe was getting to know him a little too well. "It's just been awhile since I've had anyone over here," he said. The last time he'd had someone over had been the day before he'd married Chloe. He couldn’t seem to stop his mind from drifting back to that day.

Oliver had just gotten home from listening to Carter chew him out and he had half a mind to suit up and patrol, but it was too early for that. He went to the wet bar instead and poured himself a drink. Oliver had just lifted the glass to his lips when he felt a familiar gust of wind blow through the room. Oliver took a sip and glanced at Clark. "Did someone die?" he asked, confused by the miserable look on his friend's face.

“If by someone, you mean my love life, then yes,” Clark frowned as he paced back and forth in his best friend’s living room. “I just got out of a meeting with Carter,” he said as he ran a hand through his hair in frustration. “I went there like you told me to and the Agency has decided to pair me up with someone,” he said, his voice strained and he paused directly behind Oliver. “They want me to get married,” he said, his chest tightening as he thought about Lois.

"Really?" Oliver asked, surprised. He knew the Agency married heroes and agents off, but he'd been under the impression that it wasn't that common of a practice and they usually only did it for long missions that they couldn't explain any other way. Then again, Oliver wasn't really privy to a lot of their rules and regulations because Tess and Carter weren't big on keeping him in the loop, not that he minded. "Bummer," he told Clark. "Did they tell you which agent?"

"Chloe Sullivan, she's pretty much their top agent and I've worked with her a few times," he said as he shifted and dropped down on the couch. Clark hesitated as he watched his friend. "I have to tell you something," he said quietly. "I've been seeing someone and it’s serious," he told his friend slowly. "I'm in love with her, Oliver."

Oliver's eyes widened. He certainly hadn't been expecting that one. Oliver hadn't known Clark was seeing anyone; let alone seeing someone long enough to be in love. "Wow," he said as he took a seat in the chair across from Clark. "That's a pretty big deal."

Clark met his friend’s gaze and nodded. "It's a really big deal," he commented before sighing, "She's the most amazing person I've ever met, Oliver." His chest tightened again and a wave of guilt crashed over him. "I know that the mission comes first, that saving lives and protecting people is what we do. I get that," he said, his tone conflicting. "But I don't want to give her up...she knows who I am, Oliver, she knows me and loves me for exactly what I am. I'm not going to find that anywhere else," he said, the devastation clear in his voice.

Oliver was even more taken aback by that. "Wow," he said again. "That's great that you found someone you can be so honest with." Or it would be if it wasn't for that part where he had to marry someone else; Oliver suddenly understood Clark's kicked puppy dog look. "Did you tell her?" he asked.

Clark glanced up at Oliver and shook his head. "No, how would I even start to explain that?" he asked, pain etched on his face. "She knows about me, but I haven't told her about the Agency. It’s against the rules to even admit the place exists," he added with a sigh as he ran his hand through his hair.

"I don't want to lose her," he said quietly, "What am I going to do?" Clark had never been one to break the rules, but he couldn't marry someone he didn't love when there was someone he did love more than anything.

"Did you try talking to Carter? Maybe you could threaten to quit," Oliver suggested. He knew that probably wouldn't go over well and he also knew Clark would never stop helping people, but maybe the threat would be enough. "It's not like they can force you into marriage."

Clark shook his head. "Are you kidding me?" he asked, his eyes widening, "Carter would kill me if he knew I told someone my secret,” he said with a sigh. "He and Tess are really pushing this, they want us to do it and you know I hate breaking protocol, but I don't think I can do this."

"Maybe you should tell your girlfriend the whole truth. It's not like it's a real marriage. It'll just be in name only and then you two can stay together," Oliver suggested. Even as he said the words, he knew how terrible that sounded. It wasn't a way he would want to live.

Clark's shoulders slumped and he shook his head. "I can't ask her to be the other woman. Besides, I believe in marriage. Even if I don't love Chloe, I wouldn't feel right marrying her and then spending my free time with my girlfriend," he told his friend. "Plus, we'd have to make things look real and it would just feel like I'm cheating," he said as another sigh left his throat. "I guess these are just the sacrifices we make for the life we live."

Oliver was quiet for a moment. He believed in marriage too; his parents had loved each other and they'd loved him and it wasn't right that Clark was going to miss out on that just because he spent his spare time saving the world. "I'll do it," he said. "I'll take your place and marry this agent."

Clark blinked, startled by his friend’s response, and glanced up to meet Oliver's gaze. He opened his mouth shut it and then tried again, words finally coming this time. "You would do that?" he asked quietly, a hint of hopefulness in his voice. "Do you think they'd let you?" he asked as he stood.

"When do I ask for permission for anything?" Oliver replied. He considered getting up to get another drink, but figured he'd save that for when Clark left and he was alone with his thoughts and wondering what the hell he was doing.

"Look, Carter is going to be out of town so I'll just tell Tess that this is part of Carter's plan to make me a better company man. She won't be able to check with him until it's already too late." Oliver shrugged. "You'll be off the hook and it's not like I'm the poster child for relationships anyway."

Clark hesitated, "Are you sure about this, Oliver? It's a big deal," he said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Are you willing to make that kind of sacrifice?"

"Yeah, I guess I am," Oliver replied. "At least one of us should get to be happy," he added. Oliver knew he wasn't the love and happiness time so he might as well help out a friend. "Plus, it'll be fun to screw with Mercy's head," he joked.

Clark laughed and nodded. "Thanks, Oliver, you have no idea how much this means to me," he said as he patted his friend on the shoulder. It really did mean everything. Oliver often got a bad rap, but it was unfounded because he was a great friend.

"What are friends for if not stand in grooms at fake weddings?" Oliver joked. "I hope things work out for you, Clark. It's nice that you found someone who makes you happy."

Clark grinned. "Thanks, Oliver," he said before nodding toward the elevator. "Do you feel like going out for a little bit?" he asked, "Now that my life's not being planned for me, I'm feeling a less anxious," he said with a laugh.

"You know what, I think I'm going to pass since I need to get ready for my wedding tomorrow," Oliver replied. He smiled at Clark. "You should go out with your girlfriend," he suggested.

Clark watched his friend for a minute before nodding. "Okay," he said, pausing for one more minute, before nodding, "Thanks again, Oliver, I'll talk to you soon." And with that, he left to head over to Lois's and thank god he wasn't going to have to give her up.

Oliver realized he'd zoned out and Chloe was staring at him like he'd lost his mind. Maybe he had because agreeing to this dinner suddenly seemed like a very bad idea. There were way too many factors involved. "I'm sorry; did you say something?" he asked, sending her a sheepish smile.

Chloe's brows drew together as she watched him. "Are you sure you're okay?" she asked as she reached forward and pressed a hand against his cheek. "You just got kind of pale. Are you getting sick?" she asked, not sure what to think. Oliver was acting slightly more odd than usual and she wasn't sure if it was something going on with him or something she had done.

"Yeah," Oliver said. He felt guilty when he saw the concerned look on her face and covered her hand with his. "I guess I just got lost in my head for a moment." The buzzer rang and he nearly sighed with relief. "I'm okay," he insisted. Oliver pressed a kiss to Chloe's cheek and then moved around her to let Lois and Clark into the apartment. This was going to be weird.

Clark stood in the elevator, his hand resting against the small of Lois's back. He still couldn't believe this was happening. He adjusted his glasses with his free hand and sent a sideways glance toward his girlfriend. "You seem excited," he commented as they waited for Oliver to open the door.

It was going to be weird pretending not to know his best friend and if that wasn't enough, pretending the marriage between Oliver and Chloe was real might be even weirder. He sighed internally and focused on his girlfriend.

"I am," Lois admitted. "I've wanted you and Chloe to meet for a long time. Plus, I want to see where my cousin is living now that she's married." Lois had been trying to arrange a get together with Chloe and Oliver for what felt like forever, but things kept interfering. She was glad they'd finally found a time that worked for everyone.

The elevator doors opened and Lois stepped into the apartment, glancing around to try and take everything in. She smiled when she spotted Chloe and Oliver. "Hi guys," she said brightly.

Chloe’s smile widened when she spotted Lois and she quickly closed the distance between them and pulled her cousin into a hug. “Hey Lois,” she said, her tone warm. She hadn’t realized just how much she’d missed Lois until she saw her. Chloe felt like there were a million things she needed to talk to her about like how she couldn’t seem to stop picturing her husband in states of undress, but it wasn’t like she could.

She pulled back and grinned. “It’s good to see you, come in,” she urged before her eyes fell on the man beside her cousin. Chloe smiled. “You must be Clark, I’m Chloe and this is my husband, Oliver,” she said as she held out her hand.

Clark took her hand cautiously and shook it. “Hi Chloe, it’s nice to finally meet you, Lois talks about you all the time,” he said before shifting his gaze to Oliver and sending him half a smile as he held out his hand. “It’s nice to meet you too Oliver.”

"You too," Oliver replied as he politely shook Clark's hand and tried not to think about all the lies that were being told at the moment. "We're glad you guys could make it."

"Thanks," Lois said. She smiled at Oliver and then moved toward Chloe again, reaching for her cousin's hand. "Show me around so we can gossip about these two," she joked.

Chloe chuckled and nodded. She glanced at Oliver and winked. “Don’t miss me too much while I’m gone,” she teased before tugging Lois down the hallway and away from the living room so she could show her around the apartment.

Clark slid his hands into his pockets and watched them go. When they were out of sight, he arched an eyebrow at Oliver. “This is weird, I’ve sort of been dreading this moment for the entire day,” he admitted.

Oliver motioned toward the balcony, not wanting to take any chances. "Me too," he admitted once they were outside. "I feel bad that I'm not being honest with Chloe, but it's not like I can tell her the truth either. There are way too many secrets in play here. Did you have any idea that Chloe was Lois's cousin?" he asked.

Chloe followed his friend out onto the balcony and shook his head. “No, none,” he said before hesitating. “Not at first anyway,” he said quietly. “Two days after I came to your place, Lois mentioned her cousin got married and to Oliver Queen,” he said with a tilt of his head, “And then obviously I knew, but what are the odds?” he asked before shaking his head. “Even if I would have said yes to the marriage for the Agency, it would have never worked and we would have been blow right away.”

"Yeah, Chloe would have felt awful when she found out that she accidentally married her cousin's boyfriend," Oliver said. He was glad she'd been spared that, even if this current situation wasn't accidentally a dream. "Carter wasn't happy with me, but then he decided this might be good for me so he's letting it slide. Has anyone said anything to you about skipping the wedding?" he asked.

Clark winced and nodded. “Carter gave me an earful, told me you were a bad influence,” he said with a smile, “But other than that, just a slap on the wrist, but only because he didn’t rat us out to Tess. That woman seriously doesn’t like you,” he commented as he shook his head again. “Things are so complicated,” he said, his face sobering; “At least now that we met, we can pretend to start developing a friendship.” He knew it wasn’t that simple, but it was a start.

"True," Oliver agreed. He still didn't like that he was keeping so many secrets from Chloe. They'd been doing a lot better lately and he felt guilty for misleading her. But what was done was done and there wasn't really anything they could do differently at this point. "Have you had any missions lately?" he asked, attempting to change the subject.

Clark nodded, “A few, a series of armed robberies in different Kansas counties, some black market stuff, and someone trying to sell information about the Agency to the government, nothing too big,” he commented with a shrug. “How about you guys?” he asked, “I heard Carter talking about a big mission being brought in, something about human trafficking.”

Oliver shook his head. "I haven't heard about that, but you know they always wait for the last minute to bring me in on anything," he pointed out. "Chloe and I just got back from a quick mission and we've been doing a few local things, but nothing huge." He glanced toward the apartment. "We should probably get back inside."

Clark nodded, “You’re right,” he said as he turned and started to make his way back inside. “I like the place,” he said quietly, “You guys redecorated,” he commented.

"Chloe felt the place was a little too museum and not enough apartment," Oliver replied. "She was right." He went to the wet bar and refilled his drink, grabbing a bottle of water for Clark before he motioned for him to follow him. Oliver headed down the hallway, pausing in the kitchen doorway. "Is it safe to interrupt the gossip?" he teased, flashing Chloe a smile.

Chloe stood by the stove and glanced over her shoulder before grinning. “Possibly,” she teased as her eyes drifted toward Clark and then back to Oliver. “Dinner’s actually going to be ready soon; would you mind taking the plates and setting the table?” she asked as she nodded toward the plates near her on the counter.

"I think we can probably manage that," Oliver said. He grabbed the plates and pointed Clark toward the drawer. "Make yourself useful and grab some silverware," he joked before he moved to start setting the table.

Lois raised an eyebrow, smirking as she took a sip of her wine. "Looks like you've got that husband of yours trained already, Chlo. Not bad," she teased. Lois could see that her cousin was happy and that made her happy too. Even though she'd been uncertain about this quickie marriage, it seemed to be going well.

Chloe chuckled, “Mm, he’s well behaved,” she joked before shifting closer to her cousin and arching an eyebrow, “So I believe you were telling me how you met that boyfriend of yours,” she said pointedly, not wanting her cousin to get off topic.

Lois smiled. "I told you; we work together at the Planet. Our desks are next to each other. It was a bit rocky at first, but then I got past his clumsiness and lack of people skills and saw an amazing guy," she said, her expression softening. "He's incredible, Chloe. I don't normally say stuff like this, but I really think he's the one."

Chloe’s expression softened and she reached out and placed her hand over her cousin’s, “I get it,” she said softly, even though she wasn’t sure she did. But she could see how happy Lois was and she didn’t want to ruin that. “Why don’t I go get the guys so they can sit in here with us and talk for a little bit before dinner is ready, we’ve still got about fifteen minutes.”

"Good idea," Lois said. "It's almost strange how well Clark has taken to Oliver. He's usually a little standoffish around new people, but those two are already acting like old friends. That must be another good sign," she joked.

Chloe paused at her cousin’s words, but she smiled, “I guess so,” she said. “I’ll be right back.” She wiped her hands on the towel and moved into the other room. She spotted Oliver first and reached out to him, running her hand down his arm. “Hey handsome, why don’t you two come in the kitchen with us,” she said softly before smiling at Clark, “We haven’t really gotten a chance to all talk.”

Oliver smiled at Chloe, once again feeling guilty that she was putting on a show because she had no idea Clark knew just how fake their marriage was. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and led her back into the kitchen with Clark trailing behind them. "So what's new and exciting in the world of journalism?" he asked.

"The usual corrupt politicians and overly arrogant businessmen. No offense," Lois added. "Clark's been on the city hall beat with me for a while now," she commented.

Chloe arched an eyebrow, “Oh?” she said as she stood beside Oliver and glanced at Clark. “How long exactly? Do you two work on a lot of stories together?” she asked curiously.

Clark scratched the back of his neck and nodded. “We usually get our own assignments, but we help each other out whenever we can,” he said, keeping his voice level as he sent a smile in Lois’s direction, all the while thinking he should have told her about the Agency, but then he would have outted her cousin too.

“What about you? Lois said you work with computers?” And not just the ‘running heroes through missions’ kind, he added silently.

Chloe nodded, “I do some freelance work for different companies, though I’m starting to think my husband scared them off since business has been slow lately,” she joked as she realized Clark looked a little uncomfortable, leading her to wonder why.

"It's not my fault that people know that Queen Industries is the best," Oliver teased. "I told you that you can work for me so you don't have to worry about freelancing," he reminded her. Oliver noticed that Clark was having a hard time keeping his expressions under control and that was not a good thing. "I don't think I've ever had any friends who were reporters before."

Lois laughed. "I imagine not, considering," she joked as she reached for her wine. "So I was telling Chloe earlier that married life seems to agree with the two of you. But my stubborn cousin says that you're not planning a honeymoon. So basically you two are doing this wrong," she said.

"Never say never," Oliver countered. He knew a honeymoon would probably be an excuse they used in the future if the Agency sent them somewhere. "Things are just a little hectic right now with work," he lied smoothly.

Chloe nodded, “Ollie does run a business Lo, he can’t just pick up and leave,” she said as she rested a hand against his chest.

Clark watched them and realized that it was incredibly weird seeing how comfortable Oliver was with Chloe, if he didn’t know better, he would think they were actually in love. He shook himself out of his thoughts when he realized everyone was looking at him. He sent them a sheepish smile. “I’m sorry, what?”

Chloe kept the smile on her face, but she couldn’t help wondering what it was about Clark that made her feel like something was off. “I was just asking how you like being a reporter. I know how working such long hours with Lois can be,” she joked as she grinned at her cousin.

Clark laughed and he wrapped an arm around Lois’s shoulders as he stood beside her chair. “I love my job,” and that was the truth, even if he wasn’t talking about his work at the Planet, “And I love being able to see Lois every day. I miss her when she’s not around,” he admitted, almost shyly.

Lois smiled and leaned into Clark. "I miss you too, honey," she said. Of course she couldn't say that she missed him a lot since he was constantly disappearing to save people. Lois hated keeping secrets from her cousin, but she knew what Clark did was for the greater good and she felt like Chloe would understand why she was keeping the truth from her. "I still think you guys should take a vacation."

"We'll take that under advisement," Oliver joked. He was doing his best to keep the tension out of his voice, but he saw something in Chloe's eyes when she listened to Clark talking that made him think her mind was working overtime to fill in some gaps. He really hoped she wasn't scheduled to work with the Blur anytime soon or they were going to have a big problem.

Chloe’s eyes drifted toward Oliver for a moment and despite his joking tone and the smile on his face, there was something off about his body language, Chloe just couldn’t place what it was. She let the thought go for the moment though and focused on what was going on now and talk to Oliver about it later.

My theory proved to be exact!

I hope you now understand that the act of Chloe Ollie was altruistic towards his friend and his cousin (even though all were unaware of the relationship between the two) and therefore do not get angry with Ollie.

Great chapter!

Ollie and Clark are already busted they just don't know it yet. lmao
Do they really think Chloe isn't going to figure things out once she gets the chance to look into the situation?
She's the Agency's top agent for a reason mofos. I am going to love when Chloe learns the truth.
Maybe Ollie will step up and tell her? He knows she's already picking up on Clark's uneasiness and the wheels are spinning so he should just bite the bullet!!!
Love the Chloe and Lois are so close. I can't wait for when they both find out what's going. I'm sure they aren't going to care about protcol and confide in each other about the men in their lives.
Awesome update as always.
Happy writing.

Thanks for reading! We're glad you're enjoying the story. The truth might not come out as easily as you'd imagine that it would.

"What are friends for if not stand in grooms at fake weddings?" Ahahahaha, nice.

I love how much you have going on in this story, it's so entertaining! Ollie with his trying "not to think about all the lies that were being told at the moment", Chloe lusting after her fake husband, Clark's completely shitty poker face, and Lois telling Chlollie they are doing it (marriage) wrong. Heeeeee!

Thanks for the chapter and for making me smile today! :)

The funniest thing in this chapter is that everyone's lying to protect secrets that don't need to be protected from any of them. This is silly!
They could just come clean and spare the drama, especially Clark and Oliver since I'm feeling that Chloe's going to out them sooner than they think and it's going to get ugly, lol!
But then, we wouldn't have such a wonderful story without that drama and darn it! I enjoy the hell out of it! :)

Amazing chapter! It's great to see them interacting.
We finally have the answer about why Oliver married Chloe instead of Clark. I thought it was something like that.
Oliver is a good friend. I like the fact that Clark is his best friend, it's a nice change.
I can't wait for more, this story is so good! I love it!

Thanks for an awesome new chapter! I absolutely loved reading it. Oliver and Chloe are adorable playing the married couple. Very interesting development with Clark. It will be very interesting to see if Chloe figures out the truth. I can't wait to read what happens next.

It's nice to see Clark and Oliver as friends first. I get why Ollie would be nervous about Chloe's reaction if she found out who Clark was, but I think if anyone would she would understand why Oliver couldn't share that secret with her. Lois, too, should understand. Which makes me wonder how Chloe didn't know who the Blur was since she knew who Green Arrow was. Or at least it seemed like she knew his real identity.

I agree. Clark is a lame liar. lol

Thanks for reading! We're glad you're enjoying the story. Chloe's never met Clark before in person and the Agency likes to keep identities secret. But Oliver is trouble so everyone knows who he is.

Oh...Oh :(

I smell trouble. If someone is smart enough to put things together, that's Chloe.

And I think that once she finds out the truth, she and Oliver are going to take at least ten steps back :(

Great chapter! I like to see mysteries resolved :D

Thanks for reading! We're glad you enjoyed the resolution. And you're right; Chloe will find out eventually.

Great chapter! So many secrets!! I like that everyone had/has secrets from each other, both intentional and unintentional. Also, sweet that Chloe knows Oliver enough to know when something is off with him, and that Clark observed (though he doesn't believe yet) that Chloe and Oliver seem to be genuinely in love. Can't wait to see how Chloe figures out that Clark is the Blur.

Thanks! We're glad you enjoyed all the secrets. They do know each other pretty well already and you're right; Clark has no idea it's realer than he thinks it is.
